holly Hendrick
Ceramic Artist
Born in the Philippines and raised in Yuma, Arizona, Holly Hendrick grew up connected to Filipino and Mexican American communities. These experiences shaped her interest in identity, belonging, inequality, and the ways power operates within society.
Hendrick earned a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Ceramics at Fort Hays State University under the direction of Professor Linda Ganstrom. Her Funk Art–inspired ceramic sculptures combine humor, figurative imagery, and symbolic narratives to explore vulnerability, social systems, and the psychological dimensions of contemporary life. Working with both high and low fire clays, she uses ceramic glazes as well as cold-surface treatments.
Her work is influenced by political and social commentary and her experiences as an educator. Hendrick teaches visual arts at Cibola High School and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Arizona Western College while maintaining an active studio practice in Yuma, Arizona.
